KBZ Air ATR-72 economy class flight review LSH-HEH K7 829

Elite status: none

Aircraft type:

ATR-72-500

Seat: 16C

Padding:

Padding was a little thin but adequate for a short flight. Did not feel any hard spots in the seat.

Recline:

Almost none but not needed on such a short flight. Seat went back about an inch or so.

Pitch:

Pitch is good with 3 inches between my knee and seat in front.

Total living space is 28 inches from seat back to seat in front of you. There is 16.5 inches between armrests.

Payment method reasoning: I don’t chase airline status. Not available using points for a good value. The local Myanmar airlines are not part of any alliance.

Boarding:

Boarding was fast and easy from the ground. Bags were stowed quickly and we were given a wet refreshing towel as we boarded. Crew were very nice.

Overhead bins are small and can only hold personal item sized bags. No roll-aboards or large items.

Service:

The flight attendants passed out raffle cards for a “lucky draw” to win a car or other items such as a MacBook or iPhone.

After they began the meal service. The “meal” was a plain donut. Funny food offering for an airline but fine for the short flight.

We were given drinks shortly after. The flight attendants did have adequate English language abilities to help with anything.

All service was done quickly and the flight was nearly full! By 20 minutes in the air all of the above was complete.

IFE and power:

None offered on this flight.

WiFi:

None offered on this flight.

Food:

We were served a local plain donut. It was slightly sweet and resembled bread. It was good though!

Drinks:

We were offered a glass of Coke, Sprite, or orange juice.

Oddly water was not offered.

I had a Coke.

Best seats:

All seats appeared to be the same. A 2-2 configuration means no middle seats!

Exit row seats have a little more leg room but doesn’t make a difference on such a short flight.

Pros:

Far faster and more comfortable than other transport options for the route. Even booking 1 day ahead the prices are the same. Service is good and fast.

Cons:

Very limited schedule with only afternoon flights. Very limited route network. Checked baggage allowance is 20kg which isn’t much considering you have to check most bags on the small aircraft.

Would I fly again?

Yes! This is by far the best way to get around Myanmar as local trains and buses can be old, rough, and quite long slow journeys. Prices are very reasonable even last minute.
